Eyes of the Raven
Rock Zombie, Dudley
March 7th 2013

photo 2 (1)Dudley is rocking tonight at the Rock Zombie launch gig and we’re all waiting for the headline act. Up step ‘Eyes of The Raven’ to rip it up.

The beer-swigging fivesome are ready to rock, and kick-off with ‘Burning Eden’. Immediately we’re hearing Down, and Black Label Society influences, and these guys possess some raw power in their metal.

It’s a barnstorming start, and we’ve barely got time to breathe before we’re into ‘Damnation’. The rapid riffs, and storming solo have the crowd eating out of the ‘Raven’s hands.

‘Jaded’ sees us get a much better vocal (due to tech issues), and now we’re really getting the Eyes of the Raven vibe. Scrap the ‘beer-swigging’ comment earlier, the lead singer downs his beer, and gets back to dishing out their heavy metal sound. These guys just ooze metal from every pore, and that’s what sucks the crowd in for more.

Eyes of the Raven raise a can to the fans (there’s a t-shirt idea if we’ve ever seen one!), before wielding their weapons of metal destruction again as the onslaught continues!

These guys feed off the crowd and they draw in the biggest reactions of the night. To these guys it’s vital that the crowd are having just as good a time as they are on stage. Oh, and also as much as beer as they are enjoying too!

The band’s final song is ‘Bury My Demons’. This is a hard-hitting mother of a track and the drummer is playing out of his skins on this one! It’s rocking Rock Zombie to it’s foundations and the crowd interaction is great. The perfect sign that this band are doing what they came to do, entertain!

The crowd love it, and it’s a fitting finale to a hugely successful evening both musically, and also putting Rock Zombie on the map in style!

Eyes of the Raven did the venue and themselves proud in what was an all round accomplished performance.

Jaytee says;
These guys are heavyweights when it comes to metal. They deliver a heavy sound, but are relaxed with it that really brings the crowd into their performance. Great stuff.

Jannetty says;
A strong set from a band that looked like they have played together forever. Loud, angry and not the last time they will be at Rock Zombie after this performance. The crowd had waited all night, and Eyes of the Raven delivered.
